When the wind is blowing an average wind turbine can produce approx. 1.5 megawatts of electricity. That's enough to supply over 400 American homes with all energy needs. When approx. 400 windmills are put together in a ‘wind farm’ they can generate the same output of electricity as that of a medium size coal power plant. Many countries have already made wind power one of their main sources of energy. In 2007, Denmark was recorded of meeting over 21% of its energy needs with wind power and the Navarre region in northern Spain gets over 70% of its energy demands from wind power.
